Work with ChatGPT or Claude directly on your canvas, with editable results and conversations that stay with your project.
Assistants on the canvas
- Connect your installed ChatGPT or Claude CLI using its existing account sign-in, without entering an API key in Rasterloom.
- Press K to place an assistant note for a layer, artboard or canvas. The action is also available in the toolbar and customizable Favorite Actions.
- Move notes and chat cards freely, resize the conversation and message field, and choose a beside-pin, canvas or bottom presentation.
- Choose a model in the composer. Rasterloom remembers your choice for each provider until you change it.
- Each note keeps its own session, messages and draft when you save and reopen the project.
- Resolve a note with the checkmark to clear it from the canvas. Search Assistant History to reopen and continue the same conversation.
- Read rendered Markdown, copy individual messages, stop a running request and queue a follow-up. Enter sends; Shift-Enter adds a line.
- Chat cards become translucent over artwork when they are not targeted. Scroll fades and a Latest action keep longer conversations easy to follow.
- Connected assistants can preview the canvas, inspect the targeted layer and use the note’s attached position as context.
More native editing tools for agents
- In-app assistants and external MCP clients share the same native editing tools, including brush, eraser, healing and clone strokes, pixel selections, fills, gradients and filters.
- Edit photo and RAW recipes, text, vectors, layer effects, paint stacks, smart objects, masks and design styles.
- Remove a photo background into an editable subject mask while preserving the original image and development recipe.
- Unlock layers, move linked masks with their artwork and receive clear errors when a layer cannot be edited.
- Search and preview the asset library, place original assets, manage collections and use saved versions.
- Grant access to a specific folder to browse, preview and import its artwork from a conversation.
- Work with PDF text, pages, annotations, links and form fields, and create or arrange moodboards with the same native tools used in the app.
- Export artwork, PDFs, moodboards and photo contact sheets. Uninterrupted edits from an assistant turn can be undone together.
Faster photo development and interface fixes
- Image and RAW development now coalesces live previews while you adjust controls, then refines the result without rendering every intermediate change at full resolution.
- Before/after previews stay consistent through cache refreshes and undo, including white balance and curves.
- Opening a file no longer brings up an empty Before & After window.
- The Artboard tool shortcut is now F. Shift-O still selects the tone tool.
- Improved control padding, chat alignment, compact copy buttons and clearer conversation empty states.
Requirements: Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later. Canvas assistants use an installed, signed-in ChatGPT or Claude CLI.
