Editable filter stacks, direct photo retouching and a more reliable editing workspace.
Filters that stay editable
- Add multiple filters to photos, smart objects, text, shapes, vectors and groups without flattening the original artwork.
- Edit, reorder, bypass or remove individual filters in Properties. Filter settings and selected-area coverage stay with your project.
- Keep filters applied while painting, erasing or retouching the underlying photo. Color-filter previews update more responsively during strokes.
- Canvas assistants and external MCP clients can inspect and manage the same editable filter stacks.
Edit imported photos directly
- Use brushes, erasers, clone and healing tools, blur, smudge, liquify and tone tools without manually converting a photo to pixels.
- Select with the magic wand, clear or cut selected pixels, fill, apply gradients, move selected regions and distort photos directly.
- Original files and photo metadata remain preserved. Develop works on your edited photo, so resetting it does not restore erased pixels.
A steadier workspace
- Filter panels open near the upper-right of the editor, keeping more of the canvas visible. Tall panels scroll and compact labels and units stay on one line.
- Improved control layouts across filter panels and inspectors, including narrower windows.
- Fixed stale inspector edits when switching layers or removing controls, and improved Undo and Cancel handling.
- Improved PSD mask and Illustrator/EPS import handling, project persistence and export reliability.
- Mockup screen changes stay staged until you save the scene; Cancel leaves the document unchanged.
Requirements: Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later. Canvas assistants use an installed, signed-in ChatGPT or Claude CLI.
