Typography, directly on the canvas.
On-canvas typography
- Adjust size, tracking, pair kerning, leading and baseline with a compact floating control beside your text.
- Hover the parameter name to switch controls, or scroll over it to cycle through them.
- Drag the slider or type an exact value, with the unit shown beside it.
- Adjust weight, width and slant when your variable font supports those axes.
- Align text left, center or right without leaving the canvas.
- Use familiar keyboard shortcuts for size, tracking, kerning, leading and baseline. Your caret and text selection stay in place.
- Each slider drag is one Undo step. Press Escape during a drag to restore its starting value.
Live text properties
- Edit selected text directly in Properties, including with the Move tool active.
- Font, color, spacing, alignment and text-frame changes appear immediately, without a Done step.
- Alignment uses left, center and right icons in both Properties and the floating control.
- The floating control follows the app’s theme and keeps a consistent layout as you switch parameters.
A smoother editing flow
- Click outside the text frame to finish editing and return to Move, without creating an empty text layer.
- Switching layers keeps your text edits on the original layer.
- Paragraph leading remains editable after saving and reopening a project, and carries through exports.
Requirements: Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later. Canvas assistants use an installed, signed-in ChatGPT or Claude CLI.
